What is Tai Chi?


       Tai Chi is a martial art practiced slowly and evenly for its wonderful wellness benefits.  Tai Chi is one of the most efficient system of exercise for stability, balance and coordination.   Its movement patterns provide for optimal functioning in activities of daily living, as well as in health, fitness and athletics.

       We provide in-depth, personal attention in small groups, in a retreat-like setting.  On warm evenings classes are taught outdoors on a garden patio, with candles and subtle lights.  On cool evenings a small fire in a firepit enhances the ambiance.  During the winter our classes are held in the Tai Chi Studio, with a new hardwood floor, a trickling fountain, a multitude of plants, candles and soft music.  Refreshments are served to help provide a retreat-like experience at classes.

Instructors

Joseph Eber

Joe has more than 25 years of experience in Tai Chi studying the Yang, Wu, Hao and Wu Ji Jing Gong styles with some of the most renowned Tai Chi masters. For over 10 years he was a devoted student of Sofia Delza and the Wu style of Tai Chi Chuan, until she passed away at the age of 92. For the past 8 years, he has been studying the Wu Ji Jing Gong style of Tai Chi Chuan with Master William Ting of Silver Tiger Tai Chi. Joe has an MS degree and is an ACE certified Personal Fitness Instructor. Joe is a behavioral and performance consultant specializing in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Master Certified), helping individuals to break through their limitations. Joe is also a computer consultant, working for fortune 500 companies such as ExxonMobil, Bell Labs, ITT, and RJR Nabisco.

 



Richard Lund

Rich has over 25 years of experience in Tai Chi. He began his training with Master Jou, Tsung Hwa, author of the classic, The Tao of Tai Chi Chuan. Rich has studied primarily with Eugenia Henn, the first American to receive a teacher's certificate from Master Yang Zhen Duo, whose family developed Yang Style Taijiquan. He has studied with Master Yang and his grandson, Yang Jun, and with Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, an internationally known expert in Tai Chi and Qigong, For the past 7 years, he has been studying the Wu Ji Jing Gong style of Tai Chi Chuan with Master William Ting of Silver Tiger Tai Chi. Rich has an MS degree in mental health, has been an ACSM certified Health Fitness Instructor for over 10 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Qigong Association.
